We live during a digital renaissance, when more people than ever can now practice an art that was once reserved for a tiny group of artists with extravagant funding options. Well, and dentists. But dentists make for hack artists.
This renaissance is exemplified in a short film by Americus, fellow T2i user. “An Evening at Woodland Skatepark,” although shot only with a T2i and kit lens, employs some experimental editing techniques that remind me a little of Ang Lee’s Hulk. (If you watched Hulk but were not a motion picture editor, you probably didn’t notice what I’m talking about. That film is very experimental in its editing techniques compared to the majority of Hollywood films.)
I also enjoyed the excellent imagery and slo-mo. As a fellow digital cinematographer, editor, and former skateboarder, I enjoyed this short on so many levels.
