I just got back from Huntington Beach, where I filmed some breathtaking footage on and around the pier for my upcoming short documentary, and visited my brother Miles, who moved back from Brazil.
I also headed up to L.A. to visit fellow filmmaker and friend from high school, Cameron Sawyer. Cameron just got back from a year of making the film festival rounds for his short film She’s a Fox, which stars Hailee Steinfeld, who is also slated to star in True Grit, the Coen brothers’ new movie. Check out Cameron’s IMDB page here: Cameron Sawyer.
I also filmed a short video about the first Havaianas store in America. It opened about a week ago and we were invited to the grand opening party (festa boa!). In case you haven’t heard about Havaianas, they are the most popular brand of flip-flops in Brazil, and have become quite popular in America in recent years, after some celebrities were photographed wearing them. (More info on Wikipedia’s article on flip-flops.)
My brother Miles and I happened to be going to the beach both wearing our Havaianas that we bought in Brazil, when we stumbled upon the Havaianas shop, which is right there in front of the Huntington City Beach. What a happy coincidence!
I was also fortunate enough to get some spectacular footage at the beach, including footage of some very interesting musicians. I think you’ll like it.
I can’t wait to get all this stuff edited and posted online. Stay tuned!
